Opening Day - The Best Day of the Year

The first day of deer season is practically a holiday where we come from - as it should be. There is nothing better than getting out there for your first hunt of the year. You’ve been preparing for months, if not the entire year, and this is what it all boils down to! Your bow is adjusted and sighted in, your food plots are lush, you’ve got your tags, and everything is ready to go.

Hunting on opening day of bow season isn’t even about harvesting a monster buck (although it’s important to remember that anything can happen). Opening day is about being out there and feeling the joys that only come from the outdoors - something very few people on earth get to experience. The first moment of peace you feel when you settle down in your stand for the first hunt of the year is a feeling you can’t replicate. After months of rushing around and getting everything in order to make this moment possible you get to relax. It’s a classic game of “hurry up and wait” and with deer hunting that’s about all you can do. As soon as you settle down in your stand or blind, the world is at peace and so are you.

In this moment, when you are finally still, the world around you seems to come alive and you hear all of the typically inaudible noises of nature. With every snapping twig and squirrel rushing through the timber you can feel the electricity of the hunt consume you and every noise sounds like the buck of a lifetime. Take a breather, relax, and enjoy this moment with nature. You’ve worked hard to enjoy it and you’ve got plenty of time to do just that.

At RPA we know this feeling. We trap predators vigorously in order to produce healthy and thriving deer populations. We know what coyotes and other predators can do to deer fawns and have seen the pressure these predators put on your herd during the season. That’s why we want to teach you how to trap predators. We want you to sit back in your stand on opening day ( and all others) and know that you’ve managed your predators and opened up a whole new level of possibility!

Don’t let predators kill and run off your big game. Take control. Become a Rex Predator.

Most importantly, enjoy the hunt, friends.
